Why Vertical Ergonomic Mice is Better?

When it comes to our work setup, We always care about the performance of our machines. The click sound of our keyboard. And also the comfort of our chair.

But when it comes to the mouse, the main concern was the RGB lights, and how cool it was looking right? For me, Hell Yeah!

But do you know, that it is one of the critical components of our work setup, and the mouse can also increase the risk of wrist strains and pains?

When you are using a standard mouse, it requires your wrist to be in an extended position. It’s not the natural position for your wrist. So, the wrist has to be bent a little bit backward, and it may lead to strain on your tendons and muscles.

But if you use a verticle mouse, it’s a whole different story. The position you hold the mouse is more like a handshake position. It reduces the extension of the wrist and also it is a much more comfortable, naturalistic position for your wrist.

My Top 3 Vertical Ergonomic Mouses

So let’s talk about each vertical mouse in the list.

#1 — Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

My Opinion: Best of All, Personal Favourite, Most Expensive

Logitech MX Vertical is a cool, unique-looking mouse. And the curves go over its body making it simple and minimalistic. It looks more like a Joystick than a traditional mouse.

According to Logitech, the verticle angle of 57° is the optimal angle to reduce the pressure on your wrist.

This is my top recommendation on this list and my personal preference as well.

My Experience

Overall, the build quality of the mouse is just perfect. The thumb support is marked with a textured rubberized surface, which is very comfortable and secures the grip.

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

When you hold it, it feels very sturdy and fits my hand very well. But a person with small hands may feel a little bit bulky.

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

The primary buttons are placed very well and click very smoothly with a nice sound. The scroll wheel functions well, but it has no hyper-scrolling, so scrolling large documents may feel difficult.

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

Also, the cursor speed button is a great feature, and most importantly it allows you to adjust the pointer speed on the fly you are using the mouse. Isn’t that great :)

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

The other most important feature is, that you can pair this mouse with up to three devices via Bluetooth same time, and switch between them with a single button press.

Also, it can be connected using Logitech’s Unifying USB Receiver and can be used in wired mode with the included USB Type-C cable.

Battery life is four months, and it’s exceptional. I didn’t have to recharge it for the whole period I tested even though I used it daily which is awesome.

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

Logitech MX Vertical Mouse is supported by their awesome software Logi Option. It allows you to customize button functions, and almost control everything.

You can program the same button to behave differently for different applications. And the best thing is, it even allows you to move the cursor between different computers on the same network.

Pros

  • Good overall design.
  • Fits well for medium to large hands.
  • Can connect up to 3 devices via Bluetooth.
  • Supports a variety of connection methods such as Bluetooth, Logitech’s Unifying USB Receiver, and wired mode.
  • Battery life is exceptional.

Cons

  • Only Available for right-hand users.
  • Feel bulky for small to medium-sized Hand People due to the size of the mouse.
  • No hyper-scrolling is integrated.
  • The price is high.

My Thoughts

For me, this is the most comfortable mouse for my daily use. So I rated it as the first option in the list.

My hand is medium to large-sized and the overall design and the feel of the mouse make me feel great for my hand.

However, I have to mention that the lack of hyper-scrolling is a headache, especially when I am working with huge code bases and relatively large files.

Features come with Logi Option Software and the exceptional battery life makes it much cooler, and practical.

So this mouse is the Best Vertical Ergonomic Mouse in my Top 3 list.

Try The Logitech MX Vertical Mouse

#2 — Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

My Opinion: Affordable, Overall Best, Best Option for Left-Handed

Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

Lift was a very impressive mouse with its sleek design and the quality materials they used to build it.

When I saw it with the naked eye first time, my impression was wordless. It’s had such a calm, yet sleeky design.

Again, just like the Logitech MX Verticle, Lift also has a verticle angle of 57°, which is great.

I recommend this mouse for anyone who is not OKAY with Logitech MX Vertical, and this is also a great, affordable mouse.

My Experience

This mouse features a ribbed texture at the back that enhances the grip, and the look and feel of the mouse.

Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

And you can easily access the forward and backward buttons with your thumb. Even though those two buttons make a little bit of a clicky sound, the left and right buttons are extremely quiet.

The lift is a little bit smaller compared to the Logitech MX Vertical. So this mouse is perfect for users with small to medium-sized hands. But, even though my hand is relatively large, still it’s comfortable to use.

Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

Most importantly, Lift comes for both left and right-handed users. So, if you are left-handed, this is the best option for you. No Competition :)

The DPI of the Lift can be adjusted ranging from 400 to 4000 DPI. It can be adjusted on the fly while you are using the mouse.

And also the lift has no built-in battery. You have to install an AA battery to use it, which is a kind of drawback for me.

Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

Just like Logitech MX Vertical, Logitech Lift also can be connected to 3 Bluetooth devices same time.

It comes with Logitech’s Unifying USB Receiver as well. But unfortunately, you can’t use Lift as a wired mouse.

Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

With Logitech software, you can customize the functionalities of the Lift using a simple interface. The buttons of the mouse can be programmed to do various tasks for various applications.

Pros

  • Good overall design.
  • Fits well for small to medium hands.
  • There are both left-handed and right-handed variations.
  • Can connect up to 3 devices via Bluetooth.
  • Supports a variety of connection methods such as Bluetooth, and Logitech’s Unifying USB Receiver.

Cons

  • No built-in battery. Need to install separate AA batteries.

My Thoughts

This is a perfect mouse. The size of it makes it suitable for the majority of users, and the material used feels very comfortable.

There are variations for both left and right-handed users. Since this mouse can be bought in the range of $50 — $70, it’s affordable and worth the money.

Overall, it’s a good mouse that can be recommended for anyone, with no major drawbacks other than not having a built-in battery.

Try The Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse

#3 — ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

My Opinion: Cool Looking, RGB Lighting, Most Affordable

ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

ProtoArc EM11 has the most futuristic design among all three of them. The cool design of it catches the eyes of everyone in the room.

Build quality and the feel of it are also up to standards. So overall it is a good choice worth the money you spend.

My Experience

The smooth matte finish of the EM11 makes me feel a comfort-luxurious touch, and the size of it fits my hands very well.

ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

EM11 has a nice-looking RGB lighting system, that makes it look much more sexier. You can customize it to various modes, using the button just before the scroll button.

The left and right button clicks give quiet feedback with minimal travel. But the forward and backward buttons make a little bit bit of noice.

ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

EM11 has 3 DPI settings of 1000, 1600, and 2400. The button to change the DPI can be found at the bottom side of the mouse.

It offers two connection methods. You can connect the EM11 using the USB 2.4 GHz Receive it ships with.

The other available option is to connect the mouse to your device isvia Bluetooth. You can connect up to 2 devices and switch between them with a single button click.

ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

EM11 is equipped with a 930 mAh built-in battery, that provides reasonable usage time. You can charge the battery with the USB Type-C port.

Also, it has an auto-off function for the RGB light to save the battery. So after the inactivity of 5 seconds, the RGB light will be switched off automatically.

Pros

  • Good overall design.
  • Fits well for small to medium hands.
  • Customizable RGB Lighting.
  • Can connect up to 2 devices via Bluetooth.
  • Supports a variety of connection methods such as Bluetooth, and USB Receiver.

Cons

  • Unable to use while charging.

My Thoughts

This is the cheapest mouse on the list since its price tag is between $20 — $30. Even though it has relatively low prices, it still looks premium and feels very comfortable.

And EM11 is the sexiest mouse among all of them. However, if you are a RGB guy or, if you just need to try out a vertical ergonomic mouse, this is the best option for you.

Try ProtoArc EM11 Verticle Mouse

Bottomline

Using a vertical ergonomic mouse is a good thing, especially if you are using the computer all day. So, if you are switching to a vertical mouse today, that’s a good investment you do for your health.

Next, when it comes to your choice, both Logitech MX Vertical and Logitech Lift are great mice. But their price tags are higher. Trust me, they are worth the money you invest.

If you are right-handed and you have a medium to large-sized hand, you may love Logitech Vertical. I know because I fell in love with it :) But unfortunately, there are no variations for you, if you are left-handed.

When it comes to Logitech Lift, it fits hands of any size, even though it is marketed for small to medium-sized hands. I know from the experience.

And the other option we have is ProtoArc EM11. If you are looking for a fancy-looking budget-friendly vertical mouse this is the mouse I suggest for you.

ProtoArc EM11 is also a great mouse with good build quality. But the Logitech ones and ProtoArc ones are from different worlds.

So it’s up to you to pick what is the best for you.
